10 Years in the Service of Strengthening the Quality and Competitiveness of Products and Services
The Centre for Halal Quality Certification is today celebrating 10 years of business success. From the very beginning, the Centre has been focused on raising the quality and competitiveness of products and services certified according to the requirements of the halal standard, which was registered in 2010 at the Croatian Standards Institute, making it one of the first halal standards in the European Union.
We are pleased to note that to date, well-known food brands—over 5,000 of them—as well as hotel chains, and products and services from other sectors such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, educational institutions, and similar, have been halal certified. In the challenging and demanding global market, halal has positioned itself as a guarantee of the safety and quality of products and services and as a market niche.
The halal market is extremely dynamic and the fastest-growing globally, with a current estimated value of 2 trillion US dollars.
Thanks to its commitment to achieving lasting and added value and quality in business activities, the halal certificate of the Centre for Halal Quality Certification has become internationally recognized and present, as evidenced by numerous international accreditations, which have enabled unimpeded export to the halal market.
In addition to certification, the Centre directs its activities toward better positioning of the Croatian economy on the halal market, and therefore organizes numerous meetings and participates in various events. The Centre for Halal Quality Certification is the recipient of numerous recognitions and awards at the global level for its work in the field of halal, and is a relevant interlocutor at all global events on the halal market, where it promotes business opportunities for the Croatian economy.
The Centre was the host of World Halal Day, the most important event on halal ever organized in Croatia and the event that marked the global halal scene in 2016.
The number of producers and service providers in the halal market is constantly increasing, as explained by the results of a recently conducted study, “The Contribution of the Halal Industry to Strengthening the Economy with Special Reference to the Food Industry and Tourism,” which confirms that with a halal certificate, over 49% of companies increased their exports and over 87% of hoteliers increased the number of overnight stays and guest arrivals. The Halal Friendly Destination concept is an initiative of the Centre for Halal Quality Certification that ensures greater availability of halal products and services while traveling, in response to the growing demand for halal tourist destinations.
We warmly thank all our esteemed clients and partners for the exceptional cooperation so far. Many challenges lie ahead of us, which we believe we will successfully overcome together—persisting in strengthening the quality and competitiveness of products and services.
