Halal, haram, meshboh, sharia

MEANING OF HALAL حلال

The arabic word Halal   ( حلال )  means permitted allowed. Halal Quality can only be confirmed by the Islamic community or by the authotized certification body authorized by the Islamic community. Halal certificate could be assigned to the following:

 

  • PRODUCTS (food, cosmetics, medicines and other items of general use)
  • SERVICES   (trade, catering, banking etc)

     
  FEATURES OF HALAL PRODUCTS:
  • Presence in all dietary habits
  • Acceptable for all ages and members of other religions
  • Healthy products
  • Presence in all areas in the world
  • Additional control which guarantees safety and quality

The opposite of Halal is Haram ( حرام ) which means  forbidden, not permissible. In between those two are meshboh things, susspicious products which need additional analyses in order to  prove in which category it belongs. General rule is that meshboh is haram until is proven it is halal.
