Director of the Agency for Halal Quality Certification in Bosnia and Herzegovina | Halal Industry | International Standardization

Dr. Damir Alihodžić, Director of the Agency for Halal Quality Certification in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is an expert in food technology, halal standardization, and food quality assurance systems, with extensive academic and professional experience.

He graduated in Chemical Technology, earned a master's degree in Food Technology, and in 2022 obtained a doctorate in Technical Sciences in the field of Food Engineering from the University of Tuzla.

He began his professional career at the Agency in 2007 and has served as Director since 2018. Throughout his work, he has been dedicated to the development of the halal certification system, the improvement of quality standards, and the strengthening of international cooperation in the halal industry.

He actively participates in international standardization as a member of the technical committees of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (OIC/SMIIC) and as Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the European Halal Congress. In addition to his professional engagement, he also serves as an Assistant Professor at FINRA University in Tuzla and is the author and co-author of numerous scientific and professional papers and books in the field of halal food and standardization.

He has participated in numerous international professional events, including the World Halal Summit, the Mecca Halal Forum, and the Anuga Halal Forum, where he contributed to discussions on the development of the halal industry and the harmonization of international standards.

At the Business Forum 2026, he will share his experience on the development of the global halal industry, international standardization, and new business opportunities in the growing halal market.
