Halal in the focus of the meat industry
For several years now, the slaughterhouses Product commerce d.o.o. from Pazin and Škokić d.o.o. from Kaštel Sućurac have been striving to provide the best possible service to their customers by introducing the halal standard into their business systems. In addition to the additional control linked to the entire process of livestock breeding, slaughter and subsequent processing, the halal standard and the certificate issued by the Centre for Halal Quality Certification enable access to new markets, which represents a direct contribution both to the companies and to the economy as a whole.
Last Sunday, at the Islamic Centre Zagreb, training on the halal standard and its implementation was held for new employees of the aforementioned companies. The long-standing quality cooperation was deepened and as such evolved into a partnership relationship. In this regard, as of this year, the company Škokić d.o.o. has opened the possibility of purchasing halal meat and meat products in retail by opening a butcher’s shop in Zagreb, which is in a special halal quality certification process.
Always striving to provide the best service, the employees of the Centre for Halal Quality Certification adapted the training so that participants could follow it in English as well, given that among them there were some who had recently arrived to work in the Republic of Croatia and had not yet had time to learn the language. After the training, the opportunity was used to exchange information and experiences and thus further develop a strategy that would facilitate entry into foreign markets as well.
