The International School Matija Gubec was presented as part of the 2nd European Halal Congress in Sarajevo
This May, Sarajevo hosted a significant event in the halal industry for the second year in a row – the 2nd European Halal Congress. Organised by the Agency for Halal Quality Certification, the congress aimed to bring together experts from around the world to share their knowledge and best practices related to the halal industry. This congress stood out for its scientific and social impact, presenting a wealth of scientific research, expert achievements and practical innovations covering all aspects of the halal industry, from production to processing, quality standardisation and innovation.
The Centre for Halal Quality Certification, in collaboration with director Mrs Ljiljana Klinger, presented a research paper on the acculturation of halal in an international school environment. The paper emphasised the importance of integrating halal diet and culture into schools, representing a positive example for other educational institutions. The congress was attended by the director of the Centre for Halal Quality Certification, Aziz Hasanović, as well as Edina Mešić, head of the Quality Department, and Enisa Botonjić, head of the Education Department.
The ceremonial opening was attended by the envoy of the Reis-ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hafiz Dr Mensur Malkić, director of the Administration for Religious Affairs. In his address, Hafiz Dr Malkić emphasised that halal is not only a key issue for Muslims, but also for Muslim communities around the world, underlining its comprehensive importance.
