JAKIM Representatives on a Working Visit to the Centre for Halal Quality Certification

As part of a seven-day working visit to the Republic of Croatia, a delegation from Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) is staying at the Centre for Halal Quality Certification with the aim of strengthening professional and institutional cooperation in the field of halal certification.

JAKIM is the central state body of Malaysia responsible for the development of the halal system and the approval of foreign halal certification bodies, and represents a key institution for the international recognition of halal standards.

The delegation consisted of Muhamad Hannan Syafiq bin Jamaludin and Kamarulzaman bin Mustappa, and during their stay several official meetings were held with representatives of the Islamic Community in Croatia, the Centre for Halal Quality Certification and the diplomatic corps.

During their stay, a visit was organized to the Embassy of Malaysia in the Republic of Croatia, where the delegation was received by Chargé d'Affaires Melvin Cheah Chee Aun, with the participation of Third Secretary Faridah binti Tamma and Jasmin Džaferović, Marketing Officer at the Embassy.

At the meeting, the very good and continuous cooperation between the Centre for Halal Quality Certification and JAKIM was confirmed, as well as the importance of further strengthening institutional ties with the competent Malaysian authorities in order to maintain a high level of international trust in the halal certification system of the Republic of Croatia.

The delegation then visited the Islamic Community in Croatia, where they were received by Mufti Academician Aziz ef. Hasanović, in the presence of Deputy Mufti Mevludija ef. Arslani, member of the Meshihat and President of the Management Board of the Centre Mirza Šabić, and Secretary of the Meshihat Tarik Kohnić, together with the Manager of the Centre Muhamed Mandžić and Head of the Certification Department Nedim Omerović.

Mufti Hasanović welcomed the Chargé d'Affaires, for whom this was the first official visit to the Islamic Community in Croatia, and wished him a successful diplomatic mission in the Republic of Croatia. He emphasized the long-standing partnership cooperation with JAKIM, noting that Malaysia is a global pioneer in the systematic development and management of the halal ecosystem, and expressed satisfaction with the continuation and deepening of joint activities.
