Visit of Dr Dario Lasić from the Teaching Institute of Public Health “Dr. Andrija Štampar” to the Centre for Halal Quality Certification

On 8 April 2025, the Centre for Halal Quality Certification was visited by Dr Dario Lasić, Head of the Department for Food Safety and Quality at the Teaching Institute of Public Health “Dr. Andrija Štampar”. During a working meeting with the acting head of the Centre, Mr Muhamed Mandžić, discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation in the field of chemical and microbiological testing of food and items of general use in the context of halal requirements.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of scientifically based verification of the safety and quality of products entering the halal certification system, as well as on the need to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation in order to increase consumer confidence and market recognition of halal products.

The meeting took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, and both sides expressed their readiness to continue discussions and concretise joint activities.
