World Halal Summit
From 25 to 28 November 2021, the 7th World Halal Summit was held in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, under the theme: “New Era and New Normal: Halal Production and Consumption.”
This year’s Summit featured 60 speakers from 20 countries and 400 companies from 35 countries, and was officially opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Fuat Oktay.
The Summit comprised nine sessions, and a notable presentation as the sole representative from Southeastern European countries was delivered in the session “Halal in a World of Rapid Changes” by Assistant Professor Dr. Aldin Dugonjić, head of the Halal Quality Certification Centre, on the topic: “Halal Marketing and Branding: A Case Study from Croatia.”
In his talk, he presented the current state of halal industry development in Croatia and outlined guidelines for more significant participation in the halal market through halal marketing and branding.
On this occasion, the head of the Centre also met with key stakeholders in the halal market, discussing, among other topics, the Halal Business Forum 2022 in Zagreb.
“It is a great pleasure for me that, at the largest event on the halal market—which is developing more each day—we presented the potential of Croatia’s halal industry, and that numerous important stakeholders have confirmed their participation in the Forum,” said the head of the Centre.
